Last Box Top Collection of the Year!!!

Please remember to turn in your collection sheets / box tops by Tuesday, May 31st.  We will be in first thing Wednesday morning to collect the box tops to determine the classroom winner for the month of May.

Thank you for supporting this program!  We will post our final Box Top Results after we do the counts for May!  Our goal is $5,000 - let's put all our efforts in this weekend searching our cabinets for box tops!

A summer contest for box tops is being finalized and a summer collection sheet will be coming home next month with details of the contest so stay tuned!!!

Back to School Supply Kit Order Forms!

Today you should have received the order forms for the school supply kits!  These school supply lists were generated by the elementary teachers and are the exact supplies that the students will need to begin the 2011/2012 school year. These School Supply Kits are a great thing!  We are providing this convenient service to parents as a "thank you" for supporting us throughout the school year.  You will save time and money with this hassle free program.  No more waiting in long lines or driving to multiple stores just to find the product you need is no longer in stock!  Get the back to school shopping done now so you can have more time by the beach or the pool this summer, one less thing to worry about!

Each of these kits will arrive personalized with the student's school, name and grade on the outside of a cardboard "time capsule"!  This "time capsule" when opened will have all of the kit items ordered.  The "time capsule" then can be used to store your child's school work throughout the year. Seriously, we received a sample and it's great quality!

These order forms are due back Friday, June 3rd and no later as we will NOT accept late orders!  SchoolKidz explained that in order to receive the actual kits when we want them in August, our order forms must be received at their facility the following week so please get the order forms into the school by the due date.

The School Supply Kits will be ready for pick up on Thursday, August 25th - this is the date that has been scheduled for the classroom walk-throughs.  We will put a reminder on the website as the date approaches but no other handouts will go home regarding this so please put this date on your calendar if you decide to purchase a school supply kit.

Recycle Those OLD Flip Flops!

Flip Flop Brigade!

Every year millions of used flip-flops are needlessly discarded and end up in landfills. TerraCycle® is proud to partner with Old Navy® to create a second life for used flip-flops.

From April 22nd to May 21st Old Navy Stores within the continental US will collect used, dirty and broken flip-flops. Each store will have a box located near the entrance where you can drop off your flip-flops.

Old Navy will send these boxes back to TerraCycle once the program is finished. TerraCycle will repurpose the flip-flops into playgrounds that Old Navy will give away to a few lucky schools or community organizations that participate in TerraCycle Brigades.

Not only will you be keeping your flip-flops out of landfill, you’ll be helping to create a playground for a TerraCycle Brigade location!

Participation in the Flip-Flop Brigade is simple and it’s completely FREE. Simply bring your flip-flops to the Old Navy store near you and put them in the collection box at the front of the store. There is no purchase necessary to participate in this program and you do not need to sign up on the TerraCycle page to participate. Please note this program is not available in Old Navy stores located in Canada, Alaska, Hawaii or Puerto Rico.

By a landslide, "Despicable Me" won out as the # 1 movie choice for Family Movie Night!  Thank you to all the students who voted!

A NEW BOX TOP WINNER!!!

Finally!!! Mrs. Kent's 5th grade class won for the month of April, with a total of 470 box tops collected!  Congratulations!  Mrs. Lynch's class came in second once again with 374 and Mrs. Dolan's class was third with 318!  We have some friendly competition going on!!!  These three classrooms are also still in the top three for the year end ice cream party....   again Congrats to Mrs. Kent's class - Cocoa will be in with some goodies soon!
